Coming Soon: Second Shift, MD!

Breaking news: Over the weekend I was accepted to one of my top choices for their medical school class of 2014!

It has been a long journey to reach this point. I am profoundly relieved, extraordinarily grateful, and still somewhat shocked that somebody thinks I have what it takes to be called "Doctor" in a little over four years from now.

I can't express how thankful I am to the many people in my life who helped me reach this point, nor how excited I am for this incredible opportunity. I know there is a long road ahead, but for the time being, I'm simply savoring the moment.

Delurking to say congrats! I'm a daily reader of your blog - no medical background, I just find it interesting.

Good times. Do you think you'll do emergency medicine? Or something totally different

Right now that's what I have my heart set on, but it's also what I've been most exposed to. I'm definitely open to new experiences in med school, so your break down of the pros and cons of different specialties makes for great reading. At the end of the day, though, I'm hoping to end up in EM.

Congrats on the acceptance, Just goes to show that hard work can still make your dreams come true. Had a good friend of mine that was an RN and went to Med School, he is now doing his residency, He wants to do ER medicine. Best of Luck on your Journey to the TOP
